Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1 – Airport → Sigiriya
Upon arrival in Sri Lanka, travel inland to Sigiriya, passing through lush green landscapes and picturesque villages. Arrive at the majestic Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Explore its ancient ruins, frescoes, and landscaped gardens, and climb to the summit for panoramic views of the surrounding plains—an unforgettable introduction to Sri Lanka’s history and natural beauty.
Day 2 – Sigiriya → Polonnaruwa
Journey to Polonnaruwa, another of Sri Lanka’s ancient capitals. Wander among royal palaces, sacred temples, and intricately carved statues that tell the story of a bygone era. The day immerses you in history while offering serene surroundings and a peaceful glimpse into the past
Day 3 – Sigiriya → Kandy
Travel to Kandy, the island’s cultural and spiritual heart. Enjoy scenic highland views as you ascend into rolling hills and lush valleys. In Kandy, visit the sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic, stroll around Kandy Lake, and immerse yourself in the city’s vibrant culture and historical charm.
Day 4 – Kandy → Nuwara Eliya → Ella (Train Journey)
Ascend further into the central highlands, passing tea plantations, cascading waterfalls, and misty mountains to reach Nuwara Eliya. Take in the colonial charm, cool climate, and serene lakes of this “Little England.” Continue your journey by train to Ella, one of the most scenic railways in the world, with breathtaking views of valleys, mountains, and waterfalls at every turn.
Day 5 – Ella → Unawatuna → Bentota → Galle
Descend from the highlands to the southern coast. Stop at Unawatuna, famous for its golden beaches and turquoise waters. Continue to Bentota, where serene lagoons and palm-fringed sands await. End the day in Galle, exploring the UNESCO-listed Galle Fort with its colonial architecture, charming streets, and stunning ocean views—a perfect mix of history, culture, and coastal beauty.
Day 6 – Galle → Leisure / Exploration
Spend the day enjoying the southern coast at your own pace. Relax on the beaches, explore Galle Fort further, or enjoy a calm day by the lagoons of Bentota. This day provides a perfect balance of leisure, cultural exploration, and scenic relaxation.
Day 7 – Galle → Airport
